Autodesk is investing in regional offerings to provide you with more choice and control over primary storage of your covered content. Expanding our regional options may help you use Autodesk’s cloud collaboration offerings on projects with data residency requirements or meet your customer preferences.

For eligible services*, you can select any of the following primary storage regions of your covered content**:

• United States
• European Union (EU)
• Germany
• Australia
• United Kingdom
• Canada
• India
• Japan

You currently have the option to select the country/region indicated below for primary storage of "covered content" (see definition in question 5) for the following eligible services:

“Covered content,” also commonly referred to as “project data,” consists of  1) files, designs, models, data sets, images, documents, tasks, schedules, or similar material submitted or uploaded to the service by authorized users, and 2) the specific output(s) generated from use of the service, if any, based on the authorized user’s own raw data or information.

Yes, you and any authorized users and collaborators in your account can access your covered content from anywhere in the world, as long as your authorized users and collaborators have been invited and have valid credentials (username and password).

Currently, our systems for personal data are global, including accounts, identity, support, access, and collaboration. Accordingly, personal data, including all identity and account data, continue to be stored and processed in the US. We have legal mechanisms in place for the transfer of personal data. Please see question 8.

Autodesk has legal mechanisms in place for the transfer of personal data from the EU. For details, please see our Privacy Statement, Trust Center (Onward Data Transfer), and GDPR FAQs. Autodesk also relies on EU and UK Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) for international transfers. Our BCRs may be accessed on the Autodesk Trust Center. You may also request a Data Processing Agreement or Addendum (DPA), which addresses cross-border data transfers. You can request a DPA through the Trust Center under the heading “Legal terms.”

We will continue to invest in regional offerings to provide you with greater choice and control over the primary storage of your covered content. In keeping with our commitment to transparency, updates to our data regions will be communicated through our regular channels when available.

Autodesk is committed to building trust, securing your assets, responding to security incidents, and protecting project data. We use a combination of processes, technology, and security controls and collaborate with industry partners to deliver a robust security program. Autodesk implements robust data backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. As part of our business continuity strategy, project data is replicated between storage locations. In the event where a backup storage location is required, replication reduces the possibility of data loss or delay in service. However, Autodesk’s business continuity strategy cannot and does not replace your business continuity strategy or data backup and recovery plans.

If you select a regional offering for the primary storage of your Covered Content, the backup storage location for the Covered Content will correspond to the table below.
